Dr Lorenzo da Costa

Born in 1955, I am now in my seventies, and live in Richmond London.
Outside of my working life as a full time doctor till my mid fifties, my interests outside work have been focused, and continue to be focused on the study of spiritual development.

My Medical Career:
I joined Medical School in Goa, India in 1974 and came to the UK as an Overseas Doctor in 1982. I trained as an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon, but my path to be able to stay and work permanently in the UK back then led me to re qualify ie get a British Undergraduate Qualification (LRCP, MRCS). I then chose to re train as a GP (a 3 year programme). In 1995 I became a Partner in a GP Practice (The Vineyard Surgery) in Richmond, London, where I worked until 2011. A life crisis caused me to take a break and then decide to formally retire from the NHS to pursue my dream to create a new career.

My Medical Career after the NHS: My interest in Spirituality from age 20, created in me the desire to become a conventional doctor specialising in knowledge about the Complementary Therapy Industry and the Psychological Services Industry – focusing on Psychological Therapies outside the Medical Mainstream. My Study of Spiritual Subjects:
Outside my work as a doctor for over 50 years, I have been part of Meditation and Buddhist type Study groups. For the last 15 years I have become involved with helping run a Spiritualist Centre in SW London and my social circle is almost wholly comprised of Mediums, Psychics, Healers, the study of the Paranormal, NDEs, the After-Life, etc.
